Scholarship and funding opportunities 

A number of Faculty, School and programme-specific scholarships are available to students.  

For PhDs, the University offers various competitive bursaries via individual Schools and research groups for well-qualified candidates. Please check with your prospective academic School for details, and visit the University’s postgraduate research funding database.

Chevening Scholarships 

Students from China may apply for a  â€¯for taught master’s courses or for  for PhD programmes. 

The University of Ô°ÇøÒùÂÒ is pleased to continue the formal partnership with the China Scholarship Council to develop high-calibre research collaborations between UK and Chinese universities and research institutions. We offer a prestigious  (PDF, 812KB) with the China Scholarship Council for PhD study. Up to 52 scholarships will be supported per academic year, across our three Faculties as below: 

  • 40 PhD tuition-fee waivers for subjects within the  
  • Six PhD tuition-fee waivers for subjects within the
